Collingwood is the best place EVER!!!

i think Collingwood is the best place to live ever.  it is great because we are a small town so we don't have very busy roads and Georgian Bay is never crowded (and close by!) also, we have an awesome downtown with lots of cool stores and resturants. If you like Elvis, Collingwood has the BIGGEST Elvis festival in the WORLD!!!!  The last thing is that there are lots of friendly riding stables where you can take horse-back riding lessons.

Why Collingwood is GREAT

I think Collingwood is great because, even though we have a small town, its a tourist town so we have lots of GREAT restaurants. We have down town shopping and four seasons. For most of the year we can go skiing and for the rest we can go swimming in the Georgian Bay because we live right beside it. And not only do we have an Elvis Festival, its the largest Elvis festival in the world!!!

Why i think that collingwood ontario is the best place in the world :)

Collingwood Ontario is the best place in the world because it is a small town with a population of 18,000
and that is a good thing because when you go for a dip in georgian bay you are garentied a spot to lay on and if its starts to get cold just lay down and the rocks will heat you up.Also because of the beautiful eaves smell that autumn brings us , every morning when i bring my dog out all i do is smell the beatiful leave mist.
There are many more reasons but there are to many.

collingwoods sports programs are good

in collingwood there is alot of organized sports on a team. there is baseball, volleyball, hockey, basketball, ski racing and freestyle teams, swimming teams, running teams, bowling teams  and soccer. and because collingwood has so many organized teams it makes collingwood the best.

I think collingwood is the best because it has a 1 giant public ski club Blue Mountain and a bunch of private ones near by like Craigleth, Alpine, Georgian Peaks, Osler, Devils Glen,  and TSC. So if you like skiing or snowboarding you know where you should come. COLLINGWOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Collingwood has so many reasons why it is the best town ever. Beautiful georgain waters around Collingwood. With Wasaga Beach 10 minutes away and Blue Mountain 15 away you have fun in all seasons. Tons of snow in the winter for snowball fights and sleding. We have the biggest Elvis Festival in the world. Everything is just 3 mintues away on a bike! I love Collingwood.

              My class is right!  Collingwood is a great place to live!  When I first moved here from Nothern Ontario, I was completely taken off guard.  Although I knew we grew fruit in Ontario, I didn't quite expect to be living across the street from an apple orchard.  Coming from an area that was almost completely covered by rock and coniferous trees, made buying a house with an apple and a pear tree in the backyard very exciting!  Every year, my in-laws travel almost eight hours to come "South" and help my neighbours during apple season - just for fun!
                Although I have now lived here for 14 years, I still feel like a tourist on vacation whenever I sit on the shale or the shores of Georgian Bay and watch my children swim in the clear blue water or body suft in the waves.  In the winter, I can escape my hectic schedule, by taking a mini ski vacation in my own town!  Because Collingwood is very dependent on tourism, there is always something going on and there are many great places to eat. 
            Please support our class in our quest to promote our wonderful town through music.  Vote for Collingwood!

Collingwood rox because  the water is close by and its so beatiful and fresh so i can practice swimming and fishing to do and let me tellyou we have got the tastiest salmon there is every time we have company they ask for our great salmon . Also we have many schools located close to most neighbourhoods such as Admiral collingwood:) Connaught p.s , Mountain view and cameron p.s.
But mostly because we have all 4 seasons and thats how i like it!!!

The reason that i think collingwood ontario should have a sng in its honour is because we have the beatiful georgian bay right outside our door so we can fish , swim or relax on the rocky shore so the water comes and hits your toes. There are sports to funfill everyones day for people 0-100 to keep our selves active such as bowling,golf,swimming,hockey.soccer,football,dance and youll always be placed with someone you know but if you arent it desnt matter because here in collingwood we welcome all from far and wide and doesnt matter what you look like !!!!!!!!!!!
Also collingwood has many places to work so youll never be jobless!!!!!!!!!!

I think Collingwood is the best place in the world because it's got lots of great things that happen in it like: the elvis festival, dancing in the windows downtown, lobster fest, skiing and snowboarding at the mountains, shopping in the village, and wake stock in the harbour. And in the winter when you snowshoe, hike, walk or just take the chairlift up to the top of the mountain you can look over the edge and over look the town of Collingwood, georgian bay and the land beyond! i love it here and i hope you do to.

Jenny's reason why collingwood is the best place in the world :)!

Collingwood is the best place in the whole entire world! It may be small but to us it is hugee  , with all of its ski hills and tourist sites all of which make collignwood amazing. Collingwood has the absolute biggest elvis festival in the world and also has wake stock and all the blue mountain activities. In the winter all of the many ski hills in collingwood are open and if you stand on the top of the mountain you can see all throughtout collingwood and the georgian bay.

Why I Think Collingwood is the Total Awesomenest Place (By Ashlin)

I think Collingwood is the awesomest place that anyone could live in. I moved up from Toronto for the ski hills. And my dad is very obsessive of sailing and rowing, so the Collingwood harbour is a great place to do it. Down by Sunset Point, my family goes and swims, or watches the sunset. There are also lots of bike trails. So lots of sports for summer and winter!
Collingwood is also home to a number of artists ranging from music artists, like Drew Wright, to artists of well, ART.
There's a lot of totally awesome restaurants and shops as well. And they're all so close, you don't need to drive. It's great!

Collingwood is a great place because out of the many places that I've been to and live at, collingwood is one of my favourite. It has many beautiful sites including the Georgian Bay and many parks. From almost any part of collingwood, you are able to see the mountains and my dad loves to fish at the harbour. My dad thinks thats it is a good spot to fish. The sunsets at the harbour and craigleth are very pretty.
  

Why Collingwood is the Bestest Place in Canada by Genevieve

Collingwood is great because it is near the Blue mountains,Scenic Caves,and Wasaga Beach. There are lots of things to do from hiking on one of the trails on the shore of Georgian Bay and swimming in the Bay to walking to downtown Collingwood, where there are many shops and great restaurants to choose from. Most places are very close or are just a bike ride away, so you don't need to drive everywhere. Also there are many other reasons, like the Elvis festival,for people to love Collingwood.

Just because Our Community is Small, We Can Still Make a Difference

On Sunday October 4th, CIBC had held a 5km Run for the Cure to raise money to find the cure for breast cancer. We raised $166,812.04 at the Run for Cure!!!! We also had about 56 teams by September 29th. So, everyone who had participated in this, please leave a comment below with only your first name... We are not sure about how many people did come, but we estimate about 935 people had come. Some with a team, and some without a team. The teams that raised the most amount of money was The Higlights and Rita's Bosom Buddies who raised well over $30,000!!!!!!!

Taylor's Reason Why Collingwood is a Great Place!!

Collingwood is a great place because we have every single season each and every year. Meanwhile, in other places in Canada, like near the south of Saskatchewan it is summer for most of the year, or up north, it has winter most of the year. In the summertime I enjoy swimming with my family and friends in the nice sun. In pools, at the beach, any where. When fall comes, I rake the leaves and jump onto them with my younger brother. When it gets cold near the beginning of November, I get my new snowboard (if I need a new one), with new mitts, and other warm items. I go skiing and have a wonderful time with my family and friends. This is why Collingwood is such a great place, because there is fun activities to do year round!

Introduction

Our Grade 7 class is going to be posting this blog so we can nominate our small little town of Collingwood. We will be trying to win the CBC Songquest and represent Collingwood, to let people be reminded that we are here. Voting will be open at www.cbc.ca/radio2/songquest/ starting on the 12th of October.
